San Pedro de Alcántara
San Pedro de Alcántara is just west of Marbella, next to the luxurious Puerto Banús.
Despite much of the Costa del Sol becoming more international over the years, San Pedro de Alcántara has managed to maintain its traditional Andalusian way of life. The town is home to many traditional Spanish tapas bars, as well as welcoming international cuisines.
San Pedro has every amenity imaginable at the disposal of holidaymakers and residents. There are countless shops, bars, restaurants and much more all within walking distance of each other. San Pedro is also home to its own shopping centre, La Colonia.
Down by the beach, the promenade goes all the way to Puerto Banús, within walking distance. The beautiful promenade is popular amongst locals and fitness fanatics, as it’s perfect for running and also has several beachside outdoor gyms. As with any other Spanish beach town, there are also many chiringuitos along the promenade, offering fresh fish.
San Pedro de Alcántara also has a lot of history, as it is home to the Century XVIII Parish Church as well as the Villa San Luis, both in the town’s main plaza. The Roman site of Las Bovedas, the vaults, are also in San Pedro and attract many tourists every year.
The area is popular for its Spanish way of life and being surrounded by some of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
